No-Shows and Same-Day Cancellations:
If a renter fails to show up for their booking or cancels on the day of the rental, you will receive the net amount of the rental fee (except in cases of weather-related cancellations, as detailed below).
Renter-Initiated Cancellations:
When a renter cancels for personal reasons, your chosen refund policy (selected when setting up your listing) will apply. As a reminder, these options may include:
- Custom: Refund terms as defined by you, the boat owner (excluding the Rent Boat Cyprus commission and service fee).
While your chosen policy will generally apply, you retain the right to deviate from it. For example, you may choose to offer a full refund even if your policy states otherwise. If you decide to make an exception, please inform us as soon as possible via our contact form.
Weather-Related Cancellations:
Renters may request cancellations due to inclement weather (applicable to rentals of one day or less).
- No Weather Warning, Sailing Possible: If no official weather warning has been issued by maritime authorities, and you deem the weather conditions suitable for sailing, you can refuse the renter’s cancellation request. In this case, you will be paid for the charter.
- No Weather Warning, Sailing Not Possible: If no official weather warning has been issued, but you believe the weather conditions are unsafe for sailing, and you accept the renter’s cancellation, you will not be paid for the charter. The renter will receive a full refund (excluding the Rent Boat Cyprus commission and service fee), which will be returned as a credit note valid for 90 days.
- Alternative: You may also offer the renter the option to reschedule their rental for a later date
